Peter Graden: Food Grade Polyurethane Screed
Peter Graden foods needed to install food grade flooring for their premises so called in the industrial flooring specialists at Floortrak. As a busy food production business, Peter Graden’s new flooring needed to be tough, durable, safe, and perhaps most importantly of all, hygienic. After careful assessment of their unique needs and premises, the Floortrak team advised using our food grade polyurethane screed.
This particular industrial flooring was chosen because it provides a hygienic, easy to clean surface, a crucial consideration when you need to maintain a safe working environment. It also has the added benefits of an anti-slip finish to improve health and safety even further, and high durability to easily withstand the everyday stresses of different pieces of equipment, machinery and foot traffic.
The flooring installation
Once our recommendations were agreed, we quickly got to work to install a 6mm food grade polyurethane screed in the product area. This involved diamond grinding all areas, installing 10mm terminator cuts into the floor to aid bonding strength, and then priming the area with an epoxy DPM (moisture tolerant primer). This also received a full scattering of quartz before we applied the screed.
As a busy delivery space with lots of traffic coming and going with heavy loads, the goods-in area had two coats of high build epoxy system installed, which offers anti-slip properties and is easy to clean.
