Aldi in Selsdon, Croydon, needed a new floor for their 700m² supermarket car park to replace the old, worn-out concrete and thermoplastic line-markings and provide a safe, pleasant area for their customers to park in. So, they called in the industrial flooring experts at Floortrak for our professional services.
Aldi’s brief was a tricky one. They required a car park flooring that had an attractive finish to help maintain their branding as well as provide a highly durable, easy to maintain, and slip-resistant surface to keep customers and staff as safe as possible. Fortunately, our knowledgeable team knew just the right solution to fulfil this difficult challenge - a high build epoxy coating with a full scatter of quartz to provide an easy to clean and highly slip-resistant surface.
We chose this particular industrial flooring solution because it ticked all the boxes on Aldi’s brief and offered a range of other fantastic benefits, including:
Before installation of the car park’s new floor could begin, the team had to deal with the old concrete and thermoplastic floor. This involved removing a large area of old latex and ensuring the entire floor was prepped and ready for the new application. We installed the high build epoxy coating in a modern light grey colour with a vibrant, contrasting blue to mark the parking bays. The installation was finished with crisp while lines to highlight each of the car park spaces.
In total, the project took just five days to complete thanks to the experience of our installation team, meaning Aldi could open its newly refurbished car park and get back to trading as normal in next to no time.
